Adding Tax

Most CALPs don't charge tax on their programs, but some are big enough that they need to charge GST on services.

As of March 1st, 2026, the CALP database automatically calculates 5% tax on all items marked taxable. Taxable status is decided in the Learning Opportunity

To add tax to a new learning opportunity, follow the steps in Setting Up a Learning Opportunity

 

To add tax to an existing invoice (created before March 1st 2026):

Select the Registrations tab from the database menu

Click the Transactions button at the top of the page

Click the All text fields box

Select a search criteria (for example, learner) to find the invoice you want to edit

Select Learner from Dropdown

Click the 3 dots to the right of the invoice and select Edit

Scroll down the page to the Sub Total section and add the GST to the Tax field. Update the Total field to reflect the price including tax.

Add Tax Amount

Click Submit

Submit Button

View the edited invoice in the Transactions list to see the updated totals and add payments
