Measuring Outcomes

Outcome measures tell the story of your organization. They help you track skills use, learner progress, and program relevance from the learner's point of view. These measures are part of the CALP annual report.

Outcomes are entered in each offering once a class is complete. All of the data is collected and summed up in your annual report. To enter outcomes:

Select Offerings from the database menu

Select Offering from DB Menu

Click the offering you wish to enter outcomes for to open it

Select & Open Offering

Scroll down to the Learner Outcomes section and click Edit

Edit Learner Outcomes

Complete the form

Input Learner Outcomes

This is the number of learners evaluated. It may be less than the actual number of learners in the class.

How many of the participants reported they used their new skills outside of class?

How many learners reported they felt they were making progress towards gaining skills?

How many learners reported they felt more confident using their new skills?

How many learners reported they felt the offering was relevant to their needs?

How many learners felt the space was welcoming (i.e. did they come early or stay late to visit with staff and others, did they tell you, did they sign up for another class)?

How many learners had barriers reduced (i.e. reduced or waived fees, transportation help, childminding on site)?

Note: outcomes are meant to be an accurate reflection of how participants feel about the class. It is not necessary to have 100% in each field.

Note: Advanced Education currently asks CALPs to report only on outcomes 1.2a, 1.2b, and 2.2a. However, the remaining measures are still useful to help ensure learners are feel confident using new skills and feel welcome in your space, as well as how many learners you have helped to access the class.
