Duplicating Learning Opportunities
For CALP reporting purposes, Learning Opportunities are the categories of programming CALPs offer. Each Learning Opportunity includes these categories:
- a unique location (i.e. the same Offering delivered in both Anytown and Anywhere requires two Learning Opportunity entries)
- a specific outcome (i.e. Basic Digital Skills may have an outcome like this: "Participants will learn to navigate their digital device using a variety of software applications.")
- a specific time frame (i.e. learning occurs over 6 weeks) Note: tutoring typically occurs over 12 months (July 1 - June 30) and hours are calculated for the time the learner is present
- one mode of delivery (i.e. learning activity)
- one fee for all Offerings included under that heading
Each Learning Opportunity "expires" at the end of the funding cycle and must be duplicated for use in the next grant year. To duplicate a Learning Opportunity:
Select the Learning Opportunities tab in the database menu

Select the Learning Opportunity you want to duplicate and click on it to open the file

Click the Duplicate button at the top of the screen

Update the Learning Opportunity name to make future navigation easier (i.e. add the current cycle year to the title). Note: this step is important and will aid when duplicating Offerings.

Select the new cycle year from the dropdown list (and change any other information that needs updating). Note: the 2026-2027 cycle year can be found at the bottom of the dropdown list. It will become the default cycle starting October 1st.

Click Submit

On the Learning Opportunities screen, click the All text fields button and select Cycle. Select the current cycle year from the dropdown list.

Your newly duplicated learning opportunity will appear on the list
